I learnt how to play Magic the Gathering in 1999 while I was living in Seattle, Washington – the place which Magic was invented by Dr. Richard.
Magic cards have multiple ways of playing, a large variety of cards, the well-structured rule system, the high skill requirement of playing and the fun you can have while playing it just fascinating. Then I fell in love with it quite quickly and started playing it a lot. I still remember I used to play Magic every single weekend at the Game Centre in Seattle.
I actually kind of stopped playing it after I went back to China for about a year before I came here to New Zealand in July 2002. But in April this year (2003), a Magic playing friend here built me a deck, so I went to the National Qualifiers in Auckland and gave it a try with only 3 hours practise after not playing for a year. Haha, luckily, I did quite well and was in the top 8 so I qualified for the New Zealand Nationals in the capital city Wellington. And I am happy to become the first female in New Zealand who qualified for the National Games.
But recently due to the study, I haven't played much. But this is really a good and interesting trading card game, I can learn while I am having fun. So I think I will play it still later when I have more time. I like MTG : )!
