记胡锦涛主席访新Hu Jintao visits New Zealand

26 October 2003, Sunday, Sunny

On this fabulous day, our Chinese chairman Mr Hu Jintao came to visit New Zealand officially for the first time. I recieved a phone call and went with the other Chinese students to go welcome his visiting party, which a lot of excitement.

When I arrived, there already was a large crowd awaiting. Some people were holding Chinese flags, other elderly women were playing Chinese drums, and everyone was very excited. We were all standing in front of the Sheriton hotel, about 10 meters away from the entrance. Policemen were around it, making sure only people with permits were allowed to enter the hotel. Even though I wasn't expecting to meet Chairman Hu there, I was just happy to be one of the group there holding a flag, giving him a warm welcome overseas.

I believe Chairman Hu will do a good job for China, and am excited about the continuing development in mainland China.

Below are a few pictures from that day.
