During the 60s, 70s and 80s, many faceless, large concrete buildings were constructed in Auckland, with little regard for the city. However, in recent years nice new buildings have gone up, and old buildings have been restored. Auckland is a city of construction now with many cranes popping out of the skyline. With major upgrades for the main street (Queen St) and the downtown area by the waterfront planned for the next few years, the Auckland CBD now has a bright future.
The following photos were taken in mid-June, 2004. They are all around the downtown area, near the harbour. Enjoy!
